FootGolf Fever!
The new FootGolf season is starting soon, have you heard about the latest exciting sport sweeping the globe?
After steadily growing in popularity over the past decade, perhaps you’ve seen a FootGolf course appear near you? Or you may have heard about the many competitive tournaments that fans and players flock to every year?
FootGolf is a precision sport which - as you might have guessed - is a game which combines the best elements of the most popular sports in the world… Football and golf!
Much like golf, the aim of the game is to get your (foot) ball into the hole (FootGolf cup) in as few shots as possible, by kicking the it across the course rather than using a club (much more fun!). The game as we know it today was officially launched in the Netherlands in 2008, but the origins of the sport have a rich and long lived heritage, dating all the way back to at least the 1920s.
Now an international phenomenon, FootGolf has its own World Cup. Hundreds of top players from 26 different ‘Federation for International FootGolf’ countries come together to celebrate the sport - and compete for the top spot! This time around the World Cup will be played in Japan this coming November, but throughout the year the 2020 tour will be in full swing, so get ready for ‘FootGolf Fever’ to take hold!

You see, much like golf, FootGolf has a strict dress code and the proper attire should always be adhered to on the course. Collared shirts, smart shorts or trousers and long socks (plus a traditional golf hat if you want to add a little extra flair) are what the guidelines suggest.
